Smoky Quartz is an extremely protective stone. It protects against negative energies by gently dissolving any negative emotions it comes into contact with. A good technique to use when you are feeling stressed is to hold a Smoky Quartz in each hand and to sit quietly for a few moments. Smoky Quartz is said to be a good pain reliever and placing it on a painful point is said to help dissolve pain. In addition it is believed to help cramps and to help ease lower back pain and headaches.
Smoky Quartz can be created artificially by treating Quartz with radiation; this usually results in very dark, opaque crystals. We take care to choose only transparent Smoky Quartz crystals.
