Kyanite is a striated, blue or green crystal, which is also known as Disthene. It is a high vibration stone and is said to help raise levels of consciousness and to quickly bring stillness and tranquillity. For these reason it is an excellent stone to use for meditation.
Kyanite is thought to reduce confusion and to stimulate the higher mind, increasing the capacity for logical and linear thought. In addition Kyanite is believed to stimulate psychic abilities and intuition.
Kyanite can be used to open the Throat Chakra encouraging self-expression, communication and speaking the truth. Blue Kyanite, in particular, is believed to strengthen the voice and to help heal the throat and the larynx. It is therefore a useful stone for performers and public speakers. Kyanite is said to be a natural pain reliever and to be effective in helping to reduce blood pressure.
Kyanite does not hold negativity so never requires cleaning.
