Larimar is a rare, recently discovered, crystal found only in the Dominican Republic. It is a blue variety of Pectolite.
Larimar is said to promote tranquillity and a strong sense of inner peace and serenity. It is useful in time of pressure and stressful change as its cooling and calming energy is said to help soothe frazzled nerves and reduce stress. Larimar is also said to be a useful stone for attracting a soul mate.
In addition Larimar is said to alleviate feelings of guilt and fear and to aid communication in relationships. It can reduce the tendency to become over-critical of both yourself and others and can encourage you to let go and allow things to happen rather than trying to control every outcome.
In healing Larimar is believed to reduce depression and apathy and to help relieve bipolar disorders. It is also believed to promote self-healing and to ease cartilage and throat conditions. Placed on a painful area it is said to gently draw out the pain and provide soothing relief.
